Fortissimo Collective is a partnership of artisan metal workers. We deal in custom and stock furnishings, fixtures and adornments. We are true believers in the integrity of materials and process. Our works are designed and built with the level of attention you give your favorite kid. The goal is to create something that feels like a good record, dependable joy and a new discovery with every spin.

Ingredients

Take a good look, because there’s hidden details to be found. There’s character in each piece that is a reflection of its maker. Every nut, bolt and tool mark is evidence of a decision made, of time spent, of genuine care. We work primarily with various forms of steel, bronze, copper and wood, perfectly over-built, substantial and commanding. Our finishes, although labor intensive, are understated, often transparent, preserving and enhancing the inherent character of the materials.

We’re builders, makers, doers, obsessive tinkerers and apostles of craft. We find satisfaction and identity in building things ourselves, creating things that bring joy, beauty and gravity to the spaces we dwell and the world we cultivate. We’re suckers for the elements of a design that reveal the skill, ingenuity and personality of its maker. We find inspiration on the seat of a motorcycle, in people, in conversations, in campfires and whisky.
